One does not simply get excited about summer in Canada. One gets RIDICULOUSLY EXCITED (1). It’s warm, there is sunshine, and everything and everyone comes alive. Really, there’s nothing like it. And since we like to party like nobody’s business in summer, we’ve put together a list of our favourite outdoor dance activities as well as a handy guide to choosing the perfect outdoor dance shoe. Yes, they exist. And yes, we have them. But first…!

Montrealers rejoice! Fiesta Olympica is back this year! Every Sunday from 4pm to 11pm the de l’Esplanade area, located just behind metro Pie-IX, transforms into a Latin dancing paradise. Listen to good music, relax in lawn chairs or poofsa, or hit the outdoor floor and show us your moves. And it’s FREE! Outdoor Dance Floor -- Lachine

Take advantage of the warm evenings and the beauty of the river in Lachine and come out to dance! Mondays offer line dance; Tuesdays are country dance; Wednesdays are hip-hop nights (oh yeah) as well as Zumba gold; while Thursdays are regular Zumba! An annual event and open to the public, no registration is necessary. Just bring your dance shoes and hit the floor! Find the outdoor dance floor behind the Lac Saint-Louis Game Hunting and Fishing Club (3051 Boulevard Saint-Joseph).

OUTDOOR DANCE SHOES
So if you’re going to go dancing outdoors...you’re going to need outdoor dance shoes. And have we got some for you! None of these shoes have suede soles, as suede will wear very quickly on communal floors and concrete, but will still enable you to pivot. All of the shoes listed offer the same support as all our shoes and are comfortable for long hours of dancing under the sun and stars.
