And on the subject of details, here are some other things you should know:
The Hotel
Hotel Bonaventure is located in the heart of downtown Montreal, Quebec, one of Canada’s most beautiful cities. It’s a chassé away from the Old Port, museums, and great restaurants. It’s also right across from the Gare Central and the orange metro line which makes inner-city travel a breeze. And it has a heated outdoor pool. Need we say more?
The Event
Founded in February 1977 La Classique is a World Dance Council (WDC) ranking event and open to professionals, amateurs, pro-am, seniors, and juniors in both International and American Styles. Couples may also compete in the same-sex category.
And this year’s pro-show stars none other than Ina Ivanova Jeliazkova and Troels Bager! Since beginning their career together in 2005, the pair have taken the dance world by storm. They are the current Blackpool, International and UK Open Amateur Latin Champions. Not to mention that they are also two-time WDC World Amateur Champions in 2012 and 2013. They now dance in Professional and most recently competed at the WDC AL Open World Championships 2018 - Fred Astaire Cup Professional Latin in Paris, France on Saturday, December 8th 2018. They are currently ranked as 4th in the world and 3rd in the USA.
And as for Troupe FLIP...this dynamic dance group of ten women dancers is from our very own Lévis, Québec! Coming from the District.Mao studio, which specializes in Urban and Hip-Hop, FLIP first appeared on Season 11 of America's Got Talent. It was eliminated in the Judge Cuts, but returned as a Wild Card in the Quarterfinals. They have also appeared on NBC’s World of Dance and TVA’s Révolution. And wherever they go, they take the dance world and the podium by storm. These dancers have distinguished themselves in competition not only in Canada, but also in the United States and Europe. Among their many achievements, the group placed third in the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, Varsity category, in 2017.
Trust us. You don’t want to to miss any of this.
Nor do we! iLoveDanceShoes will be at La Classique to share in the excitement, the sparkle, and the ooh-la-la. We’ll be there with a booth throughout the entire competition, ready to answer your questions...and with an array of the most stylish and comfortable dance shoes for you try on. We’ll see you there!
