A dancer's number one tool at their disposal is their feet - yet they can be very hard on them. Therefore, it is incredibly important to protect them and keep them comfortable so that they can perform repeatedly to the best of their ability.
That's why, many of our customers use Orthotics in their dance shoes!
What are Orthotics? At a basic level, they are shoe inserts that provide additional arch support. However, for dancers with problem feet, they can be a lifesaver.
These custom made insoles can help a dancer train their feet to be in the correct position for ultimate support and comfort. A flat foot or improperly positioned feet can not only cause sore feet, but can also cause pain in the leg muscles and joints, the hips, and the back. Foot pain can cause issues throughout your entire body.
Those who wear iLoveDanceShoes custom dance shoes with their Orthotics, generally order a size up to accommodate the additional space required to. Certain styles are better than others to pair with Orthotics. For example, peep toe or closed toe shoes will easily hide the Orthotic from site. But they also work very well with practice shoes!
We highly recommend sending us an email if you have any questions about your Orthotics and which shoes are the best to wear them with! Check out our list of events too to see if we'll be in a city near you so that you can come try on some shoes while we're there!
